We want to see many small communities where both greeks, internationals and immigrants are discipled and trained to start kingdom movements everywhere empowered by the Holy Spirit
What does YWAM Athens do?

YWAM in Athens is involved in both frontier mission work (unreached peoples) and work with established churches.

We have a group of catalysts that meet together in order to train others to start simple churches/bible groups/discipleship groups all over Attica

We do trainings for emerging leaders with DMM (discipleship making movement) principles.

We have a team who runs a six months DTS for Greeks and internationals

We also partner with others in the city to do outreaches and evangelism

We emerge in our local neighbourhoods in order to be relevant to our neighbours.

We are involved in micro business start ups that can empower immigrants to use their skills here in Greece and Europe.
DISCIPLESHIP Making movement
We want to see movements of Discipleship makers in Greece and Europe. DMM (Discipleship making movement) is a lifestyle where we see evangelism, discipleship and church planting being connected.
MIcro Businesses
We are encouraging business ideas that can empower immigrants to start using their skills here in Greece and Europe.
SOME BACKGROUND
YWAM Athens started with a team in 2015. Since then we have been pursuing God's heart for the city and the land through prayer and serving. The Lord has been speaking about a big harvest in this land ever since the fish miracle took place here in 1981 (you can read about it in the book: Is it Really you God? by Loren Cunningham). We are seeing the harvest among the immigrants here and we believe the Lord for it among the Greeks. We partner with others in the city to see disciple makers grow and multiply. God has been speaking clearly over and over to us from Isaiah 61:
Journey DTS
Our unique Journey DTS will take you on a life-changing adventure. You will learn more about God and yourself. Experience other cultures and learn what it truly means to be a follower of Christ.
We have given this DTS name the “Journey”. With a different dynamic than the typical DTS; we will use the principle that Jesus used when he took the disciples out of the classroom and into the world to train them. Hands on discipleship combined with teaching as the disciples were on the mission field.
The spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon us! To proclaim GOOD NEWS to the poor, to BIND UP the broken hearted, to proclaim FREEDOM for the captives and RELEASE from darkness for the prisoners!

We have had several short term teams that have been coming to Athens for shorter time, Let us know if you are looking into possibilities coming here.
We do receive short term staff. Especially if you have a heart to see how you can be involved in work related to discipleship making movement (DMM).
